UPS Monitoring takes care of all UPSs that are connected to your systems. Depending on the licence, you can use any UPS that is recognised by Windows and whose status can be queried via “WMI” or – additionally in a higher licence – all UPS that are connected via network (or UPS that provide their data via SNMPv1). In this way, it is also possible to use the considerably cheaper UPSs that do not have a network card.
OPMONis monitors two different values of the UPSs. One is the remaining runtime (in minutes) and the other is the battery capacity (in percent). Both can be selected simultaneously or separately via a checkbox.
The main advantage of monitoring the remaining time is better measurability and thus better adjustability. The capacity is only a relative value that can change over time, e.g. when the battery is worn out.
